Carlos Popata was born on New Zealand's North Island where his Maori tribe still resides along the beautiful coastline. His uncle has lived in Hawaii for years and inspired Carlos to venture to the Islands. He has spent most of his life abroad— as a river guide in Africa, working in London's tourism industry, and finally, as a minister on Maui. He lives on the North Shore with his wife Laila and their two young boys, Kahlil and Manu.
Carlos has been officiating wedding ceremonies in the Hawaiian Islands since 2012. He works with each couple closely from start to finish to personalize their ceremony, ensuring an intimate and genuine event for friends and family. Carlos will gladly work with civil union couples to provide a sacred event.
